About

Marrickville has been named one of the coolest suburbs in the world and we agree, as its our home and we want to show you around!

Our bite-seeing walking tour will take you through some of our neighbourhood’s most famous eats, plus a few surprises we wanna ‘keep under the cloche’!

Marrickville is the centre of the independent beer scene in Sydney with multiple breweries, distilleries, live music venues, art spaces and of course food offerings. They are often housed in former industrial warehousing. It’s kinda like our version of Brooklyn in New York.

Like most of Sydney, all the great drink and food is underpinned by the area’s strong multicultural influence. There are plenty of nationalities represented, but Marrickville is predominantly the Vietnamese, Portguese and Greek immigrants that settled here in the last 70 years or so. This combination makes Marrickville vibrant, delicious and the perfect place for some bite-seeing!

We can’t wait to have you around at our place for some great food and drink.

Highlights

  • Tasting your way through Marrickville like a local
  • Experiencing a multicultural, non-touristy part of Sydney
  • Sampling direct from the producer

Sample Itinerary

  1. We’ll start at an iconic family-run deli for a coffee (or an iced cafe crema) and tasting of the house-made cheeses along with Australian olives and meats (kangaroo salami. ..yum!).
  2. Next, it’s another Sydney icon our most famous Banh Mi (Vietnamese pork roll).
We’ll wash down that deliciousness with a beer from a local brewery. We think a sour matches best, but you may be a hop head and need an IPA or possibly you are in love with the darkness of a porter. No judgement, all beer is good beer.
  3. Following the refreshment, we’ve got some Aussie classics from our mate’s bakery for you to ‘wrap your laughing gear around’ (that’s an old Aussie term for eating).
  4. Once you’ve filled up on your Aussie ‘tucker’ (food) quota, we’ll drop by another small cheese producer for a snack before the sweet sweet finish!
  5. The dessert finale to the Marrickville Munch is at our favourite ‘serial chillers’ headquarters. We may get to see what they are up to through the factory windows while we ‘get stuck into’ their house made gelato and crazy chocolate creations.

At the end of your food tour, we can roll you back to Sydenham station, or you can jump on the afternoon Marrickville Brewery Tour that starts shortly after and share some beers and spirits in Australia’s Craft Beer Capital!

  • Transfers from the City to Marrickville are available at an additional cost
  • This tour can be operated as a driving tour at additional cost. Our standard public departures are walking only (excluding pre-purchased transfers)

*SOMETIMES THINGS CHANGE – Because our tours visit multiple venues, sometimes our plans need to change to accommodate their operations. And Sometimes we just know about goings on around town that are worth checking out, so we may change some parts of our tours. Whilst these changes are rare, we do reserve the right to make them. If you do have a MUST-SEE spot, please let us know when making your booking and we’ll do all we can to make it happen.
