DISCOVER AUSTRALIA’S OLDEST WINE REGION
About
Escape Sydney for a day and head north to the Hunter Valley for wine, spirits, good food and plenty of local flavour.
Our usual day takes in three boutique wineries, a local distillery, cheese and chocolate tastings and a relaxed lunch with your choice of wine, beer or cider.
The Hunter is Australia’s oldest wine region and while Semillon and Shiraz might be its best-known exports, there’s plenty more going on. We like smaller cellar doors and local producers where there’s a chance to meet the people involved, hear a few stories and understand a little more about what’s in your glass.
Throughout the day we’ll mix wine tastings with local cheese and chocolate, with a relaxed lunch giving everyone a chance to slow down and enjoy being in wine country.
Every day in the Hunter can be a little different. We build the itinerary around what’s open, what’s pouring and what’s happening around the Valley. The venues may change, but the idea doesn’t: a relaxed day exploring some of the best local wine, spirits and produce we can find.
If you like your wine but wouldn’t mind a couple of beers along the way, our Grains & Grapes option swaps the wine for local brews at a couple of stops while keeping you on the same day out with the group.
