Dave’s offers a range of different tour and event experiences in multiple locations in and around Sydney, Canberra and the Hunter and we’re always looking to expand the family, especially guides.
Our team of Tour Daves (yeah, we’re all called Dave) come from a multitude of different backgrounds, all with the ‘guiding itch’ in common. We have some Daves seeking (with plenty who have found) employment in the brewing/wine industries, food fans looking for an outlet, students studying tourism, history buffs keen to buff, actors in between roles, professionals with full time jobs looking for a fun side gig and a few full time tour guides.
We offer a number of different experiences from half day behind the scenes tours of the newest and coolest breweries and distilleries in town, evening historic pub walking tours of old Sydney, to full day wine, gin, cheese and chocolate tasting in the Hunter Valley and Canberra. The skills and knowledge required for each tour type vary greatly, so if you’re keen, there is always a chance to upskill and we’ll train you to become an expert Dave.
You won’t need to know everything about history, beer, wine or food production up front (although that’d be a bonus), but a general love for local produce and the stories behind the region are a must as it’s core to who we are. Whilst knowledge can be taught, you do need to be a great communicator and it is important you are a confident public speaker who can chat to anyone.
Flexibility is also very important as alot of our tours and events take place on weekends and evenings. Positions are available on a casual basis, with part-time and permanent roles to become available for the right candidate (Australian permanent residents only).
Drink and food tourism and our offering is ever evolving, so we need Dave’s of all shapes and sizes to meet the demand. If you have the guiding itch, send a CV of relevant experience plus a cover letter highlighting why you’d be a great Dave to info@daves.com.au!
P.S. If your name already is Dave, you may need to be called something else.
