TO EXPLORE BRISBANE’S WESTERN BEER FRONTIER
This brewery tour combines fresh air with fresh brews as we explore history in Ipswich and hidden microbrewery gems in the outer-city, western suburbs of Brisbane.
Number of guests per tour – This tour accommodates a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 guests (get in touch for information on larger group sizes). Your order will be confirmed once we have filled 2 seats on the tour.
This tour is operated by our great mates Hop on Brewery Tours. We only partner with the BEST Tour Operators in our favourite places to ensure you have the best local beer adventure.
WHERE YOU WILL GO
Guests have the chance to check out one of Brisbane’s newest breweries, Aether Brewing, where you will receive a warm welcome and cold beers. Their taps are always changing, serving anything from an IPA to a sour, so come along to see what’s on today!
4 Hearts Brewing at The Pumpyard. Here we will get out and stretch our legs, then have a tour of the brewery. Located within the walls of an historic building and with glistening metallic tanks you can reach out and touch, Wade Curtis (the owner) has trademarked the “stainless steel selfie”, so grab a picture to share with your friends!
We will enjoy a delicious lunch here after a refreshing tasting paddle of 4 Hearts’ wide range of beers, with top-quality produce to match the fine brews on tap. If the weather’s nice we can grab a seat outside or sit in a private eating area within the historic walls.
A short drive back toward Brisbane sees us visiting White Lies Brewing Co in Sumner Park. One of the smaller breweries we visit today, we will have the chance to chat with owner/head brewer Lee “Smiley” McAlister and taste what he has on tap.
Our final stop of the day is Ballistic Beer Co. where bar manager Ev and/or head brewer Lachy will show you around their brewery set up and treat you to four of their finest! Their beers are top notch, so we will save room in the esky for any takeaways you grab. There’s a food truck here in case you’re feeling peckish (food not included at this stop) so feel free to grab something to munch on.
SOMETIMES THINGS CHANGE – Because our Brisbane beer tours are truly behind the scenes experiences sometimes our plans need to change to accommodate brewery operations. And sometimes we just know about beer goings on around town that are worth checking out, so we may change some parts of our tours. Whilst these changes are rare, we do reserve the right to make them. If you do have a MUST-SEE beer spot, please let us know when making your booking and we’ll do all we can to make it happen.
